Study Reveals Chamber Membership to Boost Business's Image Among Consumers - (01/11/2008)
--A new national study reveals that membership in a local chamber of commerce
      can significantly boost a business¹s image among consumers, as well as among
      other businesses. In a scientific survey of 2000 U.S. adults, The Schapiro
      Group, an Atlanta-based strategic consulting firm, found positive
      perceptions of chamber members in a number of areas, including overall
      favorability, consumer awareness and reputation, and likelihood of future

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HONORS AREA BUSINESSES DURING ANNUAL LUNCHEON - (06/14/2007)
--The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Business Awards Luncheon — the Wilkes-Barre Walk of Fame — Thursday, June 14 at The Woodlands Inn & Resort in Plains Township — 330 people turned out for the event.
      Co-sponsored by Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs and PNC Bank, the annual serves as an opportunity to support and honor excellence among area businesses and the valuable role they play in the Greater Wilkes-Barre area. This year area businesses and professionals were honored in the following categories: ATHENA, “I Believe” Award, Business & Industry/Education Partnership, Diversity, Great Valley Young Entrepreneur Award and Pride of Place.

      he cost is $79 for Chamber members ($69 for two or more employees), $149 for non-members and $15 for students.
